In
spite of the summer heat in the Lowcountry, I did spend some time
running the roads down along the coast. Here is some of what
I captured while I was down here.

Exit 76 on Interstate 26, Newberry,

In
an act of shameless self-promotion, I took a picture of a sign I designed
to promote the public information website I maintain as part of the
Community and Media Relations work that I do for my company.

Shakespeare
Rock,
U.S. Route 76, north of Newberry,
S.C.

For
years, I've passed this rock and watch it painted over by students
at local schools and nearby Newberry College. One weekend, I
stopped to take a picture of it. It's right next to the Shakespeare
electronic components plant, north of town on U.S. Route 76.
Jenkinsville,
Fairfield County, S.C.

S.C.
Route 215 winds its way northwards from Columbia's bustling North
Main Street along the eastern bank of the Broad River, leading into
some of the most empty and remote country in all of South Carolina.
Along the way, one passes through a cluster of houses, a post office,
and a couple of closed stores known as Jenkinsville. The most
interesting thing in this area is an old church, with graves dating
back to 1795, no doubt some of the earliest settlers of the region.
