The
adventures continue even more ... I enjoy the fall weather for
getting out and exploring. Here's what the fall has turned
up so far ...
Fort
Watson at Lake Marion,
Clarendon County, S.C.

Following
major defeats at the hands of mostly-militia Patriot forces in
the Upstate, the British fort at Fort Watson, then overlooking
a key Santee River crossing (now Lake Marion) fell with hardly
a fight when the Patriots constructed a gun tower that overcame
the height of British positions on top of the American Indian
burial mound.
Greek
Orthodox Church
US 17 Bypass in Myrtle Beach,
S.C.

Right
amongst the mass-produced tourist crap of Myrtle Beach is a rare
architectural gem - the local Greek Orthodox church, compete with
some beautiful stained glass work and the traditional round domes.
Park
and What ... ?!?
US Route 378 in Marion County,
S.C.

As
with Sugar T** in the spring, I have no comment to this store
at the junction of US 378 and SC 908 in Marion County, and will
leave all speculation and comments to you, the website visitor.
For
the record, it was Sunday when I took the picture and the store
was closed, so I tend to doubt that this place is offering illicit
services of any kind.
The
View from the Front Gate ...
Beaufort Marine Air Station

I
don't recall who it was who said "Let them hate, so long
as they fear", but my hat's always off in salute to the brave
men and women who put the fear of America into our enemies around
the world.
Old
Sheldon Church
Between Yemassee and US
17
Northern Beaufort County, SC

This
church was once the center of plantation society in northern Beaufort
County. Burned once by the British, rebuilt, then burned
by Union soldiers.
Artist's
House
US 21, Lower St. Helena
Island
Beaufort County, SC

Right
off US Highway 21, just north of the Harbor Island drawbridge,
is this artist's house. Look for it on your left if headed
towards Harbor, Hunting, and Fripp Islands.
