Four
and a half years of hard work, long nights away from home, and more
loneliness and sacrifice than most people would rationally endure
brings you one of 1400 graduates of the College of Charleston's
Class of 2004. With my Associate and Bachelors degrees in hand,
I am working hard on the PART-time pursuit of my Masters' Degree ...
...
and the raise and promotion that comes along with having my B.A.
degree (hey, who says we do it for the learning experience?).
As
much as I will miss the friends I made and experiences I shared
along the way, I will admit that it feels DAMN good to be done!
And
for those of you who wonder what the tux is all about ... the
College of Charleston doesn't do the standard (and more appropriate)
cap and gown. They do a "southern formal" with summer tuxedos
and white dresses. Which explains why I'd be dressed like that
on a hot day in May in the Lowcountry.
There's
a picture of what we look like on graduation day, so you'll know I'm
not making this stuff up.
