How to become a Member of St. James
Interested in becoming a member of St. James United Methodist Church?
There are four ways to become a member of St. James UMC:
By Profession of Faith
If you are a baptized Christian but do not hold membership with another church, mark the "Wish to Join" box on the visitor's card and the pastor will contact you. Or you may prefer to bring the card to the pastor in the sanctuary foyer immediately following any worship service. After the pastor is given the visitor's card indicating your desire to join the church, you will be asked to meet with the pastor for membership orientation.
By Profession of Faith and Baptism
If you are not a baptized Christian, our pastor will be happy to discuss the meaning of the Baptism Sacrament with you at your convenience. You may call the church office or mark the "Wish to Join" box on the visitor's card and the pastor will contact.
By Transfer from Another United Methodist Church
Mark the "Wish to Join" box on the visitor's card and the pastor will contact you. Or you may bring the card to the pastor in the sanctuary foyer immediately following any worship service. After the pastor is given the visitor's card indicating your desire to join the church, you wil be asked to meet with the pastor for membership orientation and welcomed into the church's membership during an upcoming worship service.
By Transfer from Another Denomination
If you are already baptized and confirmed, these steps will not be repeated. You may mark the "Wish to Join" box on the visitor's card and the pastor will contact you.
