Dawn P. Tillman

Dawn was loved by many around the area. It seemed anyone who came in contact just loved her. She was a very vibrant individual, who loved her community and her job serving it. She will be sorely missed by thousands. Dawn was removed from life support and she passed around 7PM on April 17th. Her brain was so severely damaged, she was unable to breathe or keep her heart functioning without the aid of a machine.

Dawn Patricia Tillman
1968-2007

Dawn was survived by her Brother, John Roy Tillman IV and her Stepmother Anna Watts Tillman. Her parents, John Roy Tillman III and Virginia Patricia Anderson Tillman are both deceased.

Dawn's other relatives include a Step-sister, Leigh Watts Early and a Step-brother Randy Watts. She had a few "adopted brothers", like Raymond Jack Davis, whom she met while working at the Charleston County Park years ago and Myself, Michael Pool whom she met through Jack. We love her so much we would do anything to get her back.

Her loss has impacted us all and it will be a long angeltime before things get back to any sense of normalcy, as there are so many things that remind us of her.

Thanks to all who have poured out their support to the family and close friends in their time of need. The Berkeley County Sherriff's Department has been absolutely stellar in their assistance, providing housing for relatives, transportation not to mention round the clock guards while she was in the ICU and while she lay in state in Mcalister-Smith memorial chapel in Goose Creek.

Many came to offer their assistance... we met one of the nicest ladies who brought coffee fom home when the machine in the waiting room was broken..she arranged through her contacts to get Sticky Fingers and Chick-Fil-A to cater lunches, The folks at CommonPoint Financial brought baskets of snacks for the vigil, they're the ones who helped Dawn attain a loan to remodel her home. They were devastated, as they had grown to love Dawn as much as we all had... There were gift baskets and breakfasts and dinners provided by many...thanks to you all. Thank you all... Dawn would have done the same for you, which is something I heard from many in the ICU waiting room as we waited for word of her status through the night.
